welcome
For the kharal,s of pakistan.
Kharals claim descent from the legendary Raja Karan of the Mahabharata, whose descendant, Bhupa, came to Uch Sharif in the 13th century, where he, along with his son Kharral, were converted to Islam by Makhdoom Jahanian Shah. From Uch, the Kharrals spread over the countryside around the Ravi River. Now they are living in District,Vehari, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Hafizabad, Okara, Nankana_Sahib, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala,Bahawal Nagar, Chistian,SANDHILIANWALI.
Kharrals have the following sub-divisions: Nuwekay, Rubera, Gugera, Chera, Sahi, Peroka, Saboka, Jaloka, Bashera, Purbera, Kalera, bhandara, Lakhwera, Ransinh, Dheerokay, Shameerkay and Jalabkay etc.( Like the Sials, they were at first mainly a pastoral tribe but in the 14th century, Kamal Khan refounded an old town which has been identified by General James Cunningham as one of the strongholds of Malli captured by Alexander The Great. It was named Kot Kamalia in honour of Kamal Khan.
The Lakhwera clan was never numerically strong but it attained certain amount of importance during the reign of Aurangzeb, when Saadat Yar Khan, the then chief of Kamalia, obtained a fief/jagir from the Emperor. It was at this time that Walidad Sial overran Kamalia and settled the Mardana and Tarhana Sials on the Ravi. Some of the Kharals moved towards Vehari, Multan, Faisalabad, and Hafizabad, and then further south to Sindh.
However, while going into the depth of History it tells itself during the invasion in Greater India in the middle age ( in around 1300 AD ) by many muslim Mughals who forcefully asked the people to change their religion along with beliefs, norms and values . The people who denied to adopt the Muslim religion were either killed or punished or had to pay extra fine every year. So the people who could not afford or could not sustain to bear the consequences adopted the Muslim religion , while some others ran away from there to other parts like in Nepal. So still we can see that many other tribes such as Khatri, Brahmans, Rajputs, Jatts, Gujjars Shah and others splited into two religions. Most of the examples are found in Bangladesh. where most of the Bangalis were Hindus before the middle age whereas after the invasion of Muslim in Indian sub-continent made as Muslim. These all evidences are found while going through the history (http://www.hindubooks.org/sudheer_birodkar/hindu_history/landalienrule.html). Therefore, kharal ( sometimes also said as Kharel) was one of the most recognized ethinic caste belonging to Rajput of greater-India however during the Middle age, for the protection of their religion from Muslim rulers some of them ran to the hilly parts of Nepal and has always been an important part of Nepalse society.
He was a resident of Neeli Bar's famous town Gogera, District Sahiwal. He started his rebellion in a wide area of Punjab, Pakistan covering Ganji Bar, Neeli Bar and Sandal Bar area (an area between rivers Sutlej, Ravi River and Chenab covered with thick forests in past). A Punjabi Muslim, Rai Ahmed Khan Kharal was basically a landlord, owner of a reasonable/worth mentioning territory ,he was leader of Kharal Tribe due to the prevailing unjustice at that time ,love for his mother land resulting differences with the rulers ,he was a peace loving, landlord, with respectable status but created injustice made him the leader of the freedom fighters who carried out the famous Gogera insurrection. They also attacked the Gogera Central Jail and ensured the freedom of hundreds of freedom fighters who were kept there for actively taking part in the War of Independence 1857. These freedom fighters under the command of Rai Ahmed Khan Kharal were able to make vast part of their land totally free of the British Raj for at least three months. Their headquarters was at Kot Kamalia. Along with his companions Murad Fatiana, Shujaa Bhadroo, and Mokha Wehniwal he killed Lord Burkley the Commissioner for Gogera. He united most of the Bari tribes against the British rule and was finally killed in a battle with British forces defending his beloved motherland. After his death His head was taken along by the British soldiers, but snatched back by one of His loyal friend, the point to be noted was that after passing even months blood droops were coming out of his neck as fresh as it has happened just now, His efforts for the freedom of the homeland from British rule were also acknowledged by the last Moghul king, Bahadur Shah Zafar.
